After the first successful buy in SF last year for my primary-residence, I decided to work with Ronnie again on my second search for a rental property.
The 2 searches were completely opposite from each other, in terms of goals, location, and property types (last but definitely not least). I was referred to a few other agents through friends & family, who have been working specifically with investment properties in my targeted area in SF for over 15 years. After a long consideration, I picked up the phone and decided to reach out to Ronnie again to help me with the second search. I wasn't so sure at the time how well Ron would do over all these highly recommended/ experienced agents, I was quite sure for a fact that throughout a few years trying to build up my Real Estates Portfolio - I have NOT seen anyone who has the same work ethics as Ronnie does! And this isn't something that can be taught (even with time), you either have that factor or you don't. I admire this about Ron, and I knew he would be the one who I could rely on 24/7. So again, I reached out and we started the search.
2 weeks gone by, Ron took me by surprise. Not only that Ron understood the area so well to its core (A+ for industry knowledge), he understood me and my "new goal" just as much, which is the MOST important thing. Ron gave me advice with respect, and always honored/ prioritized my need & want throughout the whole process. In such a competitive market like San Francisco, it is not always easy to win on offers, especially with a budget in mind. Ron took everything into consideration, and advised on all perspectives during the offer process. We finally won the perfect offer after 3 weeks of hard work. I could not be happier!
I also want to emphasize that I'm not always the easiest person to work with a smile. I have incredibly high expectations for client service (I am needy); I always look for perfection + efficiency every step of the process from beginning to close. Luckily, Ronnie has the same values. And he always delivers! So if you want everything to be perfect, I think Ronnie is the perfect agent for you.
Last and most importantly, it's always been fun working with this guy. We always learn a thing or two together, even when we disagree on a few minor things. Ronnie is the guy that would recommend you to a Real Estate attorney for self-protection purposes, try to set you up with a free consultation, and then sit and read on Real Estates Laws with you until mid-night, to make sure you don't use up all the consultation time asking irrelevant questions (I low-key loved this!!!)
At the end of the day, don't we all want an agent who is more than qualified, fun to work with, and always on our side? Home-buying process is already stressful enough, pick someone who you can trust and rely on. I highly recommend Ronnie (once again)!
Ron Salter figuratively and literally held my hand during the nerve racking journey of purchasing property in San Francisco. I needed not just a place for myself but a place that would bring me rental income. He asked basic questions about what I wanted at first but as he and his team did more research he found a more specific and clearer picture of what I needed.
Ron knows the neighborhoods but more importantly he knows the micro locations which suits my needs. And if he didn't know something (or more often HE felt he didn't know enough) he would find the information quickly.
He has an amazing amount of trustworthy contacts such as other realtors, buyers, property firms, sellers, appraisers, architects, construction firms, SF permit experts and many more.
He was also willing to take time when I wanted to look at something that wasn't feasible. But he was never condescending or patronizing to me. That is a generally under appreciated but highly valued character trait to me. And it wasn't just about getting me to buy. He gave me guidance and honest assessments. By the end I had a friend who went above and beyond. He protected me from pitfalls, money holes and even myself. A pink building with a departing pharmacy and dilapidated second floor flat? No Shawn, just no!
After the purchase of an amazing property when all the paperwork was signed he was still looking out for me. He was worried about an estimate I received, felt he could find better for me.
So whether you have a precise vision of what you need or are stumbling around and anxious (like me) Ron Salter will help you navigate the incredibly difficult journey of buying property in San Francisco.
This might seem like a rambling review of Ron but he helped me find a property that was everything I wanted and exactly what I needed. He helped me secure my future. How do you measure that? I felt and still feel incredibly lucky to have him on my side. Thank you, Ron!
I honestly don’t know where to begin with how great of a realtor and person Ron Salter is. Being a first-time homebuyer – and in a market as competitive as SF – I was extremely apprehensive about everything! Thankfully, I could not have asked for someone to work with better than Ron! From the moment we first met to discuss goals and expectations to that milestone when I signed on that dotted line for my very first home, Ron was patient, knowledgeable, and trustworthy every step of the way.
Patience – I had no idea what to expect in buying a home in SF. I was overwhelmed with the countless documents to read, fill out, gather, etc. Ron patiently guided me through all of them – even when I forgot certain deadlines.
Knowledgeable – The SF/Bay Area market can be quite intimidating. Not only does Ron work with a great real estate company that provides him with a platform for up-to-date and crucial information about this dynamic market, he himself also takes the time to do his own research on the area and properties of interest to me. Talk about going above and beyond the call of duty!
Trustworthy – I find this to be the most valuable quality of Ron. I interviewed a number of realtors (as well as having had prior experiences helping friends with theirs) and I finally selected Ron because I sensed that I could trust him, and he did not prove me wrong. He was not focused on how much money or commission he could make from a certain purchase. Instead, his priority was to find the right home for me. This true sincerity is a quality not found in many realtors, and Ron innately possesses such!
Thank you very much, Ron! You were an integral and appreciated part of helping make my American dream come true!
I have used Ron for two purchases now in San Francisco.
Ron is simply put an amazing human being. Real estate agent aside, Ron is, and I mean this honestly, genuinely there to help you @ 100% with speed and integrity. He literally has zero ounces of ulterior motive. He gets to know you and helps you achieve your goals.
My most recent purchase (a cash-flow positive duplex in San Francisco!!) wasn't the smoothest escrow: the sellers were having issues and delaying closing. Ron was there to have our backs and make sure we were on-top of all possible alternatives. He was both strategic and calm in his approach, and we were able to get the sellers to close after a short delay.
For both houses, Ron did everything a great agent would do (meet at 11pm for showings, answer texts/calls 24/7, analyze market value and negotiate the best deal possible) - but the most memorable and unique part of the experience with Ron was the way he made us feel during the stressful times. Ron was more like a best friend we could trust @ 110% and really enjoy the process with.
No question I will be partnering with Ron on future real estate opportunities. Thanks for everything Ron.
This review is overdue! Ron was such a pleasure to work with and a huge help in my search to purchase my home in San Francisco. I’ve bought and sold real estate before, but never in the city. Ron met with me at a Starbucks, and after listening to my very specific goals, he put together a plan to help me succeed in this complex market. His knowledge of the city, access to industry resources, and pulse on the market were very impressive. After touring several properties, I ended up feeling emotionally torn between 2. I asked Ron for his opinion. To my surprise, he suggested I offer on the much cheaper property. He thought it was a better value, saw greater long-term potential in it. He also mentioned he saw that my boyfriend and I were simply happier there. At that time I knew I was working with the right guy. He wasn’t just looking to make money; he genuinely cared that I made the right decision. I moved forward on the cheaper property and I’m so glad I did! Bottom-line, better than other agents I've used before because of his integrity and industry knowledge. This is an agent whom you can trust/ depend on (always available, even at 11 PM at night to answer my non-sense questions), who is also very resourceful and sharp when it comes to negotiations with another side of the table. We still keep in touch to this day. I highly recommend him to anyone looking to purchase RE in SF.
Ron is amazing! It was an awesome experience working with Ron, He had excellent knowledge of the areas we were interested in and was very helpful in showing us what was available with our preferences and within my budget. Overall he took the time to understand my needs and concerns and worked well to help us find a solution to fit our needs. He is an extremely knowledgeable and resourceful realtor, very professional and has a keen understanding of the San Francisco market. He always made himself available as needed to show properties and answer all any questions and he always followed through on the requests in a timely and thorough fashion. He was always very responsive to all the inquiries and took time to explain things for better understanding. Based on our preferences, together we did a good assessment of how each property met our hierarchy of needs for current home and our aspirations for a property with future rental potential. I would absolutely recommend Ron to anyone looking for an agent – he is 100% worth it to get the most out of your search.
Me and my husband have worked with Ron over a couple of weeks to find our dream house. His approach of finding out what we like, what was within budget and the requirements set the standard when we kicked things off. It’s worth to highlight that we bought the 1st house he has shown us. This reflects how well he understood us and how intuitive he is. Throughout the journey from offer to handover of keys (11 days), it was the smoothest process one can imagine. He was always available and ready to walk the extra mile to provide us answers and to coordinate things with the listing agent. Overall I highly recommend taking up his services. He is very knowledgeable and a great fine man
Ron is the most professional, knowledgeable, and genuine real estate agent I have ever worked with. He knows the SF bay area market really well. I had to make a move from Atlanta to SF and he made the home buying process a lot smoother. Ron was on top of all the current listings and he knew exactly what I was looking for. He uses his knowledge and experience to identify the best options for you. He is a good listener and an honest man. In the end, Ron got me one of the best deals in SF on a Victorian beauty in the heart to the city! Thank you so much! I strongly recommend him to any buyer or seller in the bay area without any reservation.
Ron far exceeded expectations as our real estate agent. He took personal accountability for our listing and new home search. He was able to get us a record $/sqft with a quick all-cash close. He also helped us find and close on our new home at below listing price with a contingent offer in an extremely hot market. My family and I are very thankful for what Ron did for us! It is hard to find someone who cares as much and works as hard as he does!
It was a pleasure to work with Ron when we purchased our apartment in SF. Ron was very knowledgeable of the entire buying process in SF, professional and very responsive to all of our questions/concerns which there were many going through this for the first time. He spent a lot of time to discuss any questions with us laying out pros and cons, so we could make an informed decision and feel comfortable with the approach we were taking. He is very easy to work and I would highly recommend him to anybody looking for real estate in SF.
Lucky us! Ron is the reason we were able to land a dream property in Mission Bay. We first met him at an open house in the financial district and decided to work with Ron because he was incredibly quick to respond. He listened to (and remembered) every detail that we were looking for and tirelessly toured us through potential homes. At the end of the day, it was Ron's professional connections that lead us to the property we ended up buying. We didn't even have this place on our radar, but Ron was able to pull some strings and help us view & purchase the property before it ever hit the market. Ron was patient and transparent during the bidding process, providing useful negotiation tips without being pushy. He never missed a beat with emails or calls. The icing on top of the cake was that Ron followed through at the end of the purchase! He was there during every single walk through, even helping us track down missing pieces of information. Every one of his recommendations (for inspector, carpet cleaner, even a restaurant) were spot on. His advantage as an SF native really showed, and we'd absolutely work with Ron again.
The home-buying process is known to be overwhelming, however Ron made the process extremely smooth and productive throughout, from our introduction through my escrow close.
He immediately established himself as a trustworthy resource and his actions time and time again made it apparent that he had my best interests as his priority. He made it clear when a property was not in my best interests based on his expertise and knowledge and made himself available at any point, regardless of the hour or day. His responsiveness, knowledge, and strategic approach led to me finding my perfect home.
I highly recommend Ron to anyone in the market for a home, I guarantee you will not be disappointed.
I couldn't be happier with my realtor, Ron Salter, of Compass. He was extremely responsive and very pro-active on communicating with me, from teaching me about the local market to the purchase of my new condo.
I wish I could find some criticism to help him better himself in his career, but I honestly can't think of anything that he could have done differently or better for me. Not being from San Francisco, I was nervous and surprised by this market. I had some difficult moments in understanding the process that I'm not sure any other realtor would have had the patience to deal with me. He answered all of my questions (which were many) and assisted me with all issues throughout the entire process. I wasn't entirely sure what the process would entail and how much work it would take, but Ron was extremely informative and made it simple. You could tell right off the bat that he takes his career seriously and had my best interests in mind.
I am thrilled that Ron was my realtor and have already recommended him to several others. I don't think Compass could have a better realtor out there representing them!
Ron is simply fantastic. He's a pleasure to work with - very kind and personable - but he's also able to view things from an analytical standpoint. I felt like he neither under- nor over-sells things, but simply tells it like it is. This was super important to me, because I felt like I could completely trust him and rely on his instincts.
He is also incredibly quick and professional. There was no lag-time in any response, and he really knew the market well and was able to give a very thorough analysis of the market where we were looking. If we ever need to purchase a house again in SF, we would 100% work with Ron again.
Concisely: Ron is incredibly knowledgeable, insightful, organized, and all-in-all outstanding both as a real estate agent and as an Earth-dwelling human.
Less concisely: What made Ron stand out to me as my husband and I were purchasing our first home is how insightful and observant he is. He's amazing at accurately identifying important details and putting together lots of information in an organized way, then clearly communicating what needs to be done when/where to all parties involved, all the while supporting you emotionally throughout the process. I think he has some kind of knack for really understanding people, and so is both great at connecting you with other trustworthy people in the real estate business, and at guiding you (when you ask him to) during tough decisions. He never pressures you to do one thing or another, is never afraid to tell you what you should be worrying about vs. what you shouldn't be worrying about, will fight someone (in a very professional manner) on your behalf as needed, but won't make you feel like a weirdo if sometimes you just need reassurance and a hug.
Regardless of where you're at in terms of real estate needs or experience, work with Ron! You definitely won't regret it-- it's much more likely that at the end of it you too will want to leave a verbose, clingy Yelp review. Too bad there isn't a Ron Salter to guide you in every single aspect of life.
Buying real estate is an involved process and Ron is exactly the kind of person I want to work with for this kind of thing: he is honest, resourceful and genuinely delights in helping others. Over a few months, Ron helped me look at many units, keep an eye on listings that popped up, and with the mortgage / home insurance / moving process. He always responds to questions patiently and promptly.
I ended up buying a spacious or one bedroom in South Beach that I love.
Ron has a good relationship with many agents in the area. Before the unit came on market, we were able to view it.
Ron was super helpful in helping my parents and I find a home in San Francisco. He is very knowledgeable, patient and attentive to your needs and will work diligently to help find the perfect home for you. Anytime we had a question about the process or the specific property we were purchasing, Ron responded almost immediately.
With his help, we were able to find a home and close in a very short and efficient time frame. Definitely the best agent around - would recommend going through Ron if you are looking to find a home.
Ron utilizes his local market knowledge to pair a rational, numbers-based approach with a natural ability to listen, communicate, and advise.
